Lunch is Served!

My visit to the Crabtree Nature Center in Barrington, IL, early in June was fabulous. I walked the trails and enjoyed the birds – mostly their singing. They seem to spend most of their time deep in the branches and leaves of the trees – not very friendly to a photographer trying to take their picture.

I found a great blind that had been constructed along the shore of one of the lakes at the center. I sat and enjoyed the wildlife going about their activities while not disturbing them at all.  I watched a family of Tree Swallows living in a nest box just off shore. Mom & Dad Swallows were busy feeding their young. Nature is so awesome! And the kids were so hungry.
